Boursoufle et Pustule - Le manoir des Gloumsburry (Under development)
Boursoufle et Pustule is a universe I had in mind for a long time — a place between childhood and weirdness, where monsters live without knowing they’re monsters, and stories unfold in haunted hallways, dusty toys, and shadowy kitchens.
This project is both a love letter to choose-your-own-adventure books and a reaction to what I wish existed as a kid: something spooky, funny, slightly gross — but smart. The idea was to create an interactive experience where kids (or adults) don’t just read — they investigate. They choose, explore, make mistakes, find clues, and keep coming back.
I wrote, illustrated, and designed the entire book myself, balancing gameplay structure, narrative flow, and visual storytelling. It was important that the reader doesn’t feel punished for “wrong” choices — every decision reveals a surprise, a secret, or a dead end that still has charm.
From a technical side, I tested multiple formats before landing on one that fits both digital and printed use, with minimal friction. I optimized it for readability and fun, while also preparing future expansions: sticker sheets, coloring pages, puzzles, and spin-offs.
What I learned while building Boursoufle et Pustule could easily fill a book on its own: UX logic for books, the psychology of kid-based horror, layout tricks, and how to make a product line scalable without diluting the creative voice.
I’m not done with this world — not even close. It will grow into more books, more games, and hopefully, a community of readers who love it as much as I do.
